If you've got one and don't know what it is, configure TomTom Navigator 3 to "NMEA 0183v2 4800" and "Serial cable on COM1:". That should work - but I can't guarantee it.
You will almost certainly need to turn off incoming beams on an XDA for the serial port to work - that can be done via Start Menu, Settings, Connections tab, Beam - untick the box about incoming beams and press OK.

Select "TomTom Navigator GPS" works with almost all GPS.
I think it is just the same as NMEA 4800. _________________ Pc-Mobile

Nearly - but not quite.
"TomTom Navigator GPS" is NMEA at 4800bps, but it sends SiRF configuration commands to the GPS. That's unwise if the GPS isn't SiRF based - it may misinterpret them and do something silly.
"NMEA 0183v2 4800" is NMEA at 4800 bps and sends nothing to the GPS.

Thanks everyone. It is indeed a Rikaline 6012. I also found out the major problem on my XDA was answered in your FAQ's regarding the com port. It now works a treat. :D |
