I'm about to request a refund on CP5, mainly because I find the install/modify software impossible to use. Completely failed to install at first, using two seperate pcs. Thanks to Duncan at Globalpositioningsystems - he did the install himself.
Now, after attempting and failing to get the speed camera database installed, I'm about to ask for my money back. Don't get me started on the bizarre routing choices it makes, or the disappearing voice prompts.
But I'm trying to give it one more go. Probably silly of me, but I did the "deactivate" on the ppc, got rid of everything on both ppc and pc. Now I'm trying once more to install, and I think it's all there, but it says "this has been deactivated". How do I reactivate? There's nowhere to do it as far as I can see. I seem to remember that if you trash a particular file it will force the pc to ask for an activation code, but I can't find where that tip was posted.
help please! |

whoops, just read the alk support page and the answer is there - bin the cppocketpc5 file in the windows directory on the ppc.
Now I've just got to get alk reply to an email... |

Are you thinking of CPPOCKETPC5.DAT as the file to trash?
When I had licence error messages this was the file I deleted and it reregistered after I'd deleted. (Is there a version on the PPC as well? I can't remember and haven't checked)
See Item 4. at this link at ALK:
