I would like to see a review of the Delorme Street Atlas 2005 Handheld software that is bundled with the Earthmate Blue Logger. |

Yes, definately a Street Atlas 2005 review. It looks like a good deal for only $49.95.
This is their website http://www.delorme.com/streetatlasusa/ |

Hi,
Anyone used this before? I'm having a few probs - but no one else seems to chat about it? I'm using the 'Navigate Britain 2004' on my PPC GPS. Any way of doing your own POIs ???????

Sorry, just seeing this thread now.
Unfortunately the Street Atlas software is of such an inferior quality that we won't be able to review it any time soon - too many other items in the pipeline that are more valuable.
This is really a pity since the Blue Logger receiver is EXCELLENT ! _________________ Lutz

|
|
I'm currently using a Navman 4n00 Bluetooth GPS Receiver with my iPaq.
I'm about to get a new car and I'm considering hard wiring the GPS and iPaq into the car, probably using a Brodit mount. Ideally I'd like to be able to hide the receiver, using an external antenna, in the glovebox or boot.
If I do that, I'll probably connect the GPS to a permanent supply, rather than one switched by the ignition.
However, if I don't provide a permanent supply, the Navman receiver does not switch on when power is supplied. Also, it switches itself off if the BlueTooth connection is lost for more than nn seconds. In both cases, you need to press the button to restart it. Depending on where I can put the receiver, I may consider replacing it with something that doesn't need prodded regularly.
So, 2 useful additional Features for the "Bluetooth - Wireless Comparison Database" would be "Manual power on?" and "Poweroff if Bluetooth lost?".
I take it that wired mice type receivers are always on (with ignition) and these columns would not apply to them? _________________ Jock
