|
|
Hi
Just installed TomTom Navigator 3 bluetooth on my XDA II. We cannot get it to detect GPS. I read some other posts on the forum that suggested going to settings, system,GPS but when we try do this we get No GPS Engine re-install. We have tried re-installing from the CD, installed the update CD that shipped in the box and also uninstalled, re-installed and then downloaded the Navigator 3.03 update and installed this. Same problem.
The GPS receiver is on with flashing blue and green lights.
Help please!!!
Thanks |

make sure you are runing the lastest rom 1.72 you can find this by tapping the following
start>settings>system>device information
for the gps engine go to the downloads area of the site and download gps 2.09 save it to your dessktop unzip and install select the gps receiver you are using in the tops drop down list in the bottom drop down list select bluetooth gps check the box and away you go
dont forget to pair the receiver first _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

Alix meant GPS 2.07 (a typo, I'm sure). GPS 2.09 is an awful release of TomTom GPS - the worst ever in my opinion.
Actually, the latest TomTom GPS 3.07 isn't bad - it doesn't interfere at all with the Bluetooth stack on my iPAQ hx4700, and it's reportedly less invasive on machines with older Bluetooth stacks.

Hi Guys
Many thanks for your help. We downloaded the ROM upgrade for the XDA II as advised and all working OK. We also downloaded TomTom 3.07. Brilliant stuff. Love it. Thanks again for all your help...
Is there anywhere where I can get free Speed Camera detection software?
Cheers

david for some reason 2.07 wont work on my xda2 dont know why as the blue tooth gps option isnt listed there.
I know the gps engine after 2.07 lock the com port if you using other software onthe device such as fugawi or do lots of testing but for normal use i found 2.09 to be rock solid in use for the best part of 100,00 kms _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Ah - OK. In that case, I'd recommend GPS 3.07 - it's much less invasive than other post-2.07 GPS releases.

Thanks guys. I did know about the free database on this site but thought it needed additional software to run. Eventually decided to just download it and see and bingo... it worked first time. Very impressed. There is a Truvelo camera by me that was not on the database so I added it to as a POI on my pda. Should I let them know about this?? The camera has been there for about 4 months now...

Hi Guys
Downloaded checkpoint, syncronised (via PDA in cradle using my broadband) and went out to find some speed cameras. Pleased as punch to announce all working OK. Checkpoints database included the camera down the road which is not included in the pocketgps database.
And all this for free.... Can't complain! |
