Hi
I'm trying to set up my hp ipaq 2210 pocket pc to the internet using a bluetooth enables motorola V600 (Vodafone UK).
Iv'e tried loads of different settings and finally found one that seemed to connect them both. However when I try to open a web page on the PDA a message saying this page could not be displayed shows.
My phone displays GPRS active and when connecting my PDA shows it is dialling but the phone doesn't.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong and am very new to this so pretty clueless really!
Is there an easier option to connect? (i.e. via cables) And if so does anyone know of somewhere I can get a cable to connect a Motorola V600 with a hp Ipaq 2210?
Would be grateful of any help
Thanks in advance!

You really do want to be using Bluetooth. In any case, most of the GPRS setup hassles on Pocket PC apply no matter what connection method you're using.
Whilst I appreciate it's a bit tedious, posting the settings you've got nearly working will help a lot - as someone may well spot the problem with them. I know what the connection settings should look like for Vodafone, but there are some differences from phone to phone which makes posting a definitive guide rather hard.

I've searched through different websites and finally found settings that worked and was able to view web pages on the pocket pc.
I connected again yesterday and today and it is now not working again despite the phone and pocket pc showing that they are connected.
With these settings the phone actually shows that it is dialling.

Those settings are for dial-up WAP, not GPRS Internet.
Take a look at this post where I give a complete set of settings for Vodafone GPRS in Pocket PC 2003.
Take special note of the paragraph about SonyEricsson handsets - I'm not sure what context IDs the Motorola supports. You could start by trying *99***3# and +CGDCONT=3,"IP","internet" - changing the emboldened number 3 to 1 (as shown in my linked post, which is correct for Nokia handsets) if 3 doesn't work.

Came across this site trying to find out how to connect my new Ipaq 4700 via a Sharp GX30i mobile to Vodaphone. I tried Dave's connection settings suggestions, but unfortunately without success. The Ipaq connects fine to the phone but the phone struggles to get through to Vodafone without giving a reason.
I see Dave has a 4700 and wondered if you have any further tips?
Apologises for butting in but I am not sure how these things work. _________________ Mike

The settings I posted in the linked post should work. If context ID 3 doesn't work, try context ID 1 - or vice versa.
If you still can't get it going, it's worth manually selecting a network other than Vodafone, getting an error, then reselecting Vodafone.
If you can't get it going then, contact your service provider to check that your account is enabled for GPRS Internet access. If you're on pre-pay, that's likely to be the problem - I don't think Vodafone allow pre-pay users to use GPRS Internet access, but maybe they've changed their policies.
