Hi
I really need help, been stuck for 3 days now getting my new Stuff up and running.
1. My phone will not accept my software for my BT318 Gps as it says it is not software for phone.
2. Tomtom runs fine my phone but says I have no maps. There is not enough room on my phone for both tomtom and maps but put tomtom on phone and maps on Card it cannot find the map (of the UK).
Put the tomtom and maps on the card and the phone finds neither.
3. My phone seems to struggle to find my 512mb SD card but the card is not faulty as tried it in my palm and pc and it is a brand new card which states suitable for mobile phones.
I would really appreciate any help. |

1) You do NOT need any software for the BT GPS receiver. What you need to do is pair the receiver with the Smartphone.
Are you aware that some versions of TomTom Mobile are locked to the TomTom BT receiver?
2) The map folder MUST end in "-Map" and MUST contain a valid MID file.
If you put TomTom onto the card you need to change the shortcuts in your start menu, otherwise you can only start it through the file manager (which is tedious)
3) Is it a Sandisk card? _________________ Lutz

Hi
Tomtom running okay except for being able to run it with my GPS. Phone recognises it but tomtom says no Gps signal. Got a patch and I take it I just paste it but I don't know where?
Thanks

Don't know if I'm being naive, but why does the moderator assume it's an illegal workaround? The latest Tomtom update allows use of multiple GPS bluetooth devices. I have the original software (on a Tomtom card) but it was purchased without the bluetooth unit second hand (whether the previous owner copied the software for himself is not my concern). Hence I was chuffed when the update allowed me to use a 3rd party device. |

As far as I know this update is not yet publicly available. Do you have a link to the download? _________________ Lutz

[Link Removed as this is only available via the TomTom Support Website with a valid GPRS Account]
I did not need to make a GPRS connection with this patch by the way (besides there is no traffic for Switzerland where I am located). |

Thanks for everyone's help. I have downloaded from the link but that just seems for traffic. If it is for both I still have a problem. The tomtom is on my SD card but the upload will only go on my phone how do I link the 2 together.
Thanks

Hi
Thanks to everyone that tried to help but think i am going to throw in the towel, sell my SPV on Ebay and buy a pocket pc. Been trying to get this sorted for over a week without luck.
Thanks again

Why can't you just use the TomTom BT GPS that came with the Mobile Pack? _________________ Darren Griffin |
