Does anyone know anything about the TTN map format? I would like to be able to load my own maps - for instance having used TTN to navigate to somewhere, I could then flip to another map - for instance of a national park (understandably TT map detail away from roads is poor) and use the TT location arrow to locate myself. Of course I wouldn't want / or be able to get(!) voice commands. Part of the reason for wanting this via TTN is that TTN can 'grab' the BT GPS driver and not let other packages like Fugawi (which is better for topographical maps) - www.fugawi.com - operate.

TT use Teleatlas data (which is in GDF format) and allude to putting them in their own format (but do they?) - this is as far as I've got in finding out if its possible to put our own / customisable maps into our TT software...

I'm almost certain you won't be able to use TT with any other maps apart from those designed for TT. Even if you could the TT just isn't designed for topographical navigation - it will always try and 'snap' you to the nearest road.

If the only thing preventing you from using better software like Fugawi is the fact that TT 'grabs' the GPS receiver then you can fix this: either upgrade to TT3.07 (which prevents this); download the earlier 2.07 GPS driver from here and use that or just uninstall ~TomTom GPS from your PPC (using remove programs dialogue - search forum for more info).

Hi Diplo,

Slight snag - I'm using Palm... (and TTN 4.4)

Don't really want to uninstall TT as useful to get me to the point where I want to use maps such as Ordnance Survey.
