Does the new version of SmartST which came with iCN510 provide the ability to search for another route while in route?
Like a detour fucntion, say if yo uare stuck in traffic and you don't want to cancel your route but find alternative route?
TTgo has this feature doesn't it? most incar navigation has this also?
I might be wrong.. |

In a word - no. Each time the unit does a route, it asks if you want to cancel the current route (assuming one exists). |

It does a route recalc in a couple of ways. You can either change the parameters (quickest/shortest and freeways/urban roads) and it will recalc the route given what you've changed. Also, if you simply turn off the route it will quickly recalc the best route for you, given where you're now going - very useful in a traffic jam.
And you can put in areas to avoid so that it recalcs around those areas. |

I've used this feature a few times, really handy. Just decided that I'd pull off the main route to either avoid traffic or to go via a service station etc and it works out a new route... Magic stuff....
