|
|
Hi
Could anyone let me know if I am able to install the Digitools KanPostcode program? I have recently purchased the HP package with the ipaq 1710 which I think uses tomtom navigator 4.40. I have searched these forums but can't find any advice with the set up that I have.
The digitools site only states in the compatibility section that it requires WM2003 or PPC2002, and I have only seen references to it being used with TTN 2 and 3
I'm very new to all this, so any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

The version 4.x of TomTom Navigator uses a different rendering engine, which may or may not be compatible with the TTN3 SDK. You'll have to try it out.
As a fallback solution you can load the individual POI files directly into TTN4 _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the reply Lutz. I have tried to install the Digitools Postcode program, and at first it seemed to install ok. However, on entering a postcode into the KanPostcode screen and clicking on either 'Show on map' or 'Navigate to', the TomTom navigator opens but does not plan a route to the entered postcode.
You mentioned in your message that as as fall back I could load the individual POI files directly into TTN4. Where would I find POI files of all UK postcodes? On reading other pages on Pocket GPS world, I have found a few 'OV2' files for postcodes around London, but not all of the UK. Could you please point me in the right direction again.
Thanks

I am also having a similar issue with TTN 4.4 with the digitools postcode add in although my experince is a little different.
When I first tried it and typed in a postcode it did load TTN and it also planned a route but since this first attempt it will not plan a route or allow showing of the map from the UKpostcode.exe application.
I am fairly new to using TTN so any advice would be welcome.
Thanks

It looks like the software in the HP Navigation Pack is incompatible with the Navigator SDK - which means there's little hope of getting UK Postcode or any other add-on software (such as CheckPOInt) working.

It sounds like I would be better off getting TTN 3 if that is the case as I really could do with the postcode option.
Thanks for your reply
