These files are unoffoicial aids made by people so are not formally updated. You can add any new ones you know of direct in to TTG by adding them as POIs and GPS locations - use www.streetmap.co.uk to get the GPS location (lat long) for the postcodes you want to add

when adding a destination or location for a poi / favourite, instead of hitting 'address' hit 'gps location' and it lets you enter the lat long (iirc)

Tim | Tim, AFAIK there is no way of inputting coordinates directly into a TTGO. Are you sure about this? |

OK - I'm going to claim stress
What you can do though is use streetmap to find the spot in question, then browse the TTG map, find the same spot, put the cursor there and then use that as a GPS location to enter . . . . . I hope (not got it in front of me)
Apologies for any confusion caused |

Not quite! You can generate a POI based on the CURSOR position while browsing the map - which is what you may be referring to.
The only way in which you can generate a POI based on GPS Location is to actually BE there when you do it. In other words, it uses the current ACTUAL location rather than letting you input co-ordinates.
Another alternative, is to create a text file on a PC with Lat/Long/Postcode and then use the free POIConverter program to convert it into a .ov2 file - which you can then copy to TTG.
Incidentally, can anyone point me at an on-line source of the Postcode database in a format suitable for TTG (or suitable for simple conversion, using POIConverter)? |

Yes I was referring to map position. Apologies again - I'm usually having a quick nose from work so was probably rushing things a little.
There are postcode files in the POI downloads on this site or on mine compiled in to regions at www.timodonnell.co.uk/ttg
Watch my site for an update soon. |
