Hello everybody.
I have just got myself the Holux GR-231 and cannot get it to work with TomTom.
If I don't have the TT GPS utility installed I can get the 231 to connect to the PDA using BT relatively easily. Using the Holux GPS Viewer 1.5 I can very quickly get a fix (20 secs from cold). If I then install the TT GPS utility the Holux GPS Viewer cannot find the receiver anymore. Conflict??
Further I cannot get TomTom to get a fix. The GR-231 is not listed in the list of receivers in the TT GPS utility but choosing different settings I am able to the pda to "see" the receiver. However I never get a fix.
Can anyone help me?

I am using TTN3.07 and use the 231 with TT set to NMEA & Bluetooth, or SiRF and Bluetooth without problems. There is no specific setting for the 231 that I can find.

What you don't say, Clavain, is what Pocket PC you're using. With that information, we may be better placed to help you.

Whoops, you're right. Thanks for the reply. I am using a HP iPAQ 4150.

The problem with the Holux software is the interfering TomTom GPS driver. You can get rid of it by soft resetting, going to Settings, System tab, Remove Programs, tap on "TomTom ~ GPS" and tap Remove. You will be asked to press OK - at which point the Pocket PC will soft reset.
You have to do this again to remove TomTom GPS, which you don't want to do - but this should allow you to use other applications with your Bluetooth GPS.
The never locking problem is strange. Try NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth and your Bluetooth COM port in TomTom GPS.
