If you have left over icons from programs you've uninstalled, you can browse into \Windows\Start Menu, find and delete the respective link (which may be in a sub folder).
You can either use a program on the Pocket PC to do it (the built in File Manager, or something like Resco Explorer 2003), or you can use ActiveSync's Explore feature. Start out selecting "My Pocket PC", then Windows and Start Menu.

Are you sure there's not a little blue icon down at the bottom right of your Today screen when you run CheckPOInt? If there is, tap it (it may be a tap and hold) and the CheckPOInt menu should appear so that you can set it up.

Hi David,
right, i've got the little icon, bottom right of today screen, i've set the general and international settings, but when i go to navigator properties, can find OTHER PROPRETIES as listed in the checkpoint instructions, scroll down, no pocketgps-uk or anything else to do with speed cameras.
an you help again, i downloaded pgsspeed cameras from this site, so it must be somthing i'm doing wrong.

Assuming that you've unpacked the file you've got and put the .ov2 and .bmp files in the appropriate map folder, you should be able to select the POIs in TomTom Navigator. If not, you need to solve that problem before going any further with CheckPOInt.
If you have the POI files available in TomTom Navigator, it's then a case of activating the warnings you want in the Overlay Settings screen of CheckPOInt. Most people choose to tell CheckPOInt to start Navigator when CheckPOInt is started, and shut down when Navigator is shut down. That way, you just select CheckPOInt to start navigating.
If you do this, you can get back to the settings by starting CheckPOInt, switching back to the Today screen, and accessing the CheckPOInt icon that way.

It depends what you're trying to do. If you're trying to install from the Zip file, yes - make sure you put the files into your map folder.
It may be easier to set up POIedit to use the POIsync service with Pocket GPS World. You only have to sort it out once - you can then use the features to keep your POI files up to date when they're re-released periodically. Do make sure you have an active ActiveSync connection to your Pocket PC when you start POIedit.

Well done! It's a bit of a steep learning curve, but you have hopefully come out from it having learnt rather more about Pocket PCs and handling files.
