Please help !!!
I accidentally removed the West Midlands maps from my ICN 510 whilst trying to remove Northern Ireland to free up some space.
I tried reloading it using Smart ST sorftware but there is the same amount free on the MMC card as there was before i deleted the maps and it keeps telling me I do not have enough free space.
Any help appreciated. |

Just called Navman-europe support regarding this and the spoke to a guy who didn't understand exactly how I could remove maps from the ICN 510. I tried to explain to him and he ended up pretending that the phone had gone and put the phone down.
I called back and got the same guy :D he said this time that I cant delete maps using the ST software and that a should format the MMC card and reinstall all maps.
I am sure that I am supposed to able to delete regions, and individually re-install regions ? |

The only way it won't reclaim space is if the card is fragemented or a recycled bin has appeared, but I'd suspect the former and not the latter.
The only way to check is to take the card out of the 510 and put it in a card reader, make sure there's not a recycled bin, if there is, shift delete this in Explorer.
I'd also run scandisk against the card drive letter when it's in the card reader and fix any errors then see if there's enough space available. |

You could go to www.navman-europe.com and follow the links for custumer support for iCN 510. Specific FAQ no. 2 says about how to rebuild your SD card. You could try that if you wish at your own risk. Goodluck! |

Thanks guys for your help. (Much better and quicker than Navman support) !!!
I tried to use the rebuild SD card instructions on the Navman website, but when I downloaded the zip file and extracted, the autolock.rgn file is missing from the zip file.
The way I managed to do this was :
* Connected to the Navman using MS Active Sync.
* Using Windows explorer, access the "Storage Card" directory on the
Navman ( on win xp, expand my computer and it should be there).
* Within the storage card directory using windows explorer, I removed all
files in all the directories except for those in the sound diretory.
* Re-installed all the maps and POI from the map CD using Smart ST
software (Takes a good 20 mins for all uk maps).
* Restarted the Navman and everything seems to be working fine. :D
Hope this can help some others !! |
