I'm experimenting with a Palm/wired GPS in-car solution at the moment, and I want to have a way of securing my Garmin eMap to the dash to stop it sliding around.
I want something that's as unobtrusive as possible. I could use velcro, or one of the anti-slip mats you can get in Halfords, but they always look a bit Heath-Robinson to me.
Is it possible to buy a small piece (I only need about 1in x 3in) of sticky-backed anti-slip material which I could attach to the back of the GPS, thus avoiding having anything actually attached to the car?
Or does anyone have any better suggestions?

Could you not just cut a piece of the anti slip mat to the size you require and fix it with a few drops of instant glue ?? It should not be too much trouble to remove if needed!

I guess so, but I've seen exactly the sort of thing pre-attached to a few devices, so you must be able to get it in smaller pieces. For attaching to a mobile phone or something.

If you want a small piece to experiment with PM me and I'll send it for the cost of a SAE
