downloaded the traffic plug in today, and my c500 is working a treat this is the ultimate gps system on a smartphone. I now have both co pilot and tomtom on a 512mb mini disk storage card with pocket gps speed camera data base on them both, and still loads of storage for mp3, photos and video etc. I am one HAPPY cookie

Which do you rate the better - CoPilot or Tomtom Mobile?
Thanks |

tomtom, the only improvement i would like to see is the ability to set a destination using contact data base from outlook, as co pilot does. although being honest this does not appear to work correctly on co pilot.

Well I said I wouldn't post unless there was a problem -- but I can't resist answering your question TomTom wins hands down. It is the best looking, neatest, easiest to setup, and fastest system I could hope for.
On the 200Mhz C500 it is as smooth as the TomTom GO (The E200 was a little slow). The 3D zooms in and out like a video game. The Traffic works a dream and saved me 20 minutes on a journey last night where there were a string of accidents (as people get used to darker evenings since the clocks went back I think - silly people ).
There are still a few quirks with TomTom - like you can't search for a hotel more than 10 miles from your home, but otherwise I am extremely impressed. With the amazing battery life of the C500 I don't even need a car charger _________________ CJSnet |

Must say I am tempted with TTM over CoPilot after a) your comments b) seeing a demo of CoPilot from a work colleague and not being hat impressed c) work colleagues saying CoPilot feels like a v1.0 product

Oh and forgot to ask:
1) Can we use previously bought Maps for Western Europe for PPC with the TTM product?
2) Are there any plans for a TTM USA Edition?
Thanks |

CoPilot for Smartphone has numerous bugs, many of which cause the software to crash and there is a serious lack of features.
It needs an awful lot of work before it could be considered a v1.0 release, the software is bordering on being "not fit for purpose". _________________ Gone fishing! |

When I said v1.0 I meant it really is a version 1 type product - i.e. the first release - it works but only just :o |

what you get in the TomTom Mobile pack is an SD card? If so you need to copy that using a SD card reader to your PC and then copy those files onto the Mini SD you get with the C500?
Am I right so far?
If so how do I copy it from the PC to the Mini SD card?
thanks in advance for any help. |

You can copy files to the Mini-SD either using an SD card reader and an SD to Mini-SD adapter or via Active-Sync, dock the C500 and synchronise then copy the files to the Mini-SD in the handset via Explorer. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Obviously i'll need to purchase a new MiniSD card so i can transfer the files from the SD card that's included (BTW is it just a straight transfer of files there aren't any hidden ones or anything like that is there?).
but how much room does the program take up so i can decided on what size card to purchase.
thanks for all your help. |
