Camera alerts

If I use STA along with Android Auto I get a warning of cameras as long as the map is showing on my Samsung phone. If the map is not showing on the phone I just get the "All clear" message after the camera, but no prior warning, which is not a lot of use. If I use Camera Alert with no maps showing on the phone screen it gives me the prior warnings. Any ideas what might be wrong.

Odd as you say

My phone, Samsung S23+, runs Google Maps via Android Auto to my car headunit and STA via the car speakers perfectly OK. I don't have the STA maps displayed on the phone but the large green speedo and I get all advance alerts

I don't get the all clear as I've turned that off

Maybe check STA settings

I have the same set up as you with the car displaying Google maps and sound through the speakers. The map on the phone is the STA camera position map which I don't really need, as it discharges the phone over time even though it is plugged in, but if it is not displayed I don't get the prior warnings, just the post notice.

That does sound like a STA setting to me

All my alerts are set to ~15s except for Specs that I've set to 5s

Looking at just the first in the list, Fixed Camera, type 1 and 192

Popup window - large with text
First warning ~15 s (1/4 mile at 60mph)
Variable distance is checked
Sound effect - none
Voice alert - name and speed limit
Speed excess warning - 100yd

First settings screen Speedometer checked = all map options greyed out

I have similar settings apart from some of the times/distances. I don’t have the speedo setting ticked on the first page. It seems strange that I get warnings with the STA map showing but not when it isn’t.

Under Bluetooth, Audio Channel I've got mine set to Multimedia

Originally I had it as a pseudo phone call, can't remember which other option, and that was truncating the warning

Mine is set to Notifications and ringtones. I'll try it on the Multimedia setting and see if that makes any difference

Tried with the Multimedia setting, it didn't make any difference, still no prior warning. However if I have the show speedo box ticked then it works. It seems that unless STA is displayed it will not work as I have also proved when running Google maps for directions, which is needed on display on the phone in the car without AA, I get no warnings.

My Google Maps is transmitted to my car headunit via Android Auto

What you can do is minimise the speedo display so you can still see Google Maps on your phone

So how do you minimise the speedo display to look like yours? We have two cars one with AA and the other without. On the AA car it is set up like yours
