Does this run the correct IGO software to run PGW database and is directional?

Hi
According to the manual here (https://argos-support.co.uk/storage/files/1713190.pdf) it uses NDrive and not IGO.
Page 34 has a section about importing data and specifically mentions speed cameras. It needs the data in .kml format which we offer.
Look for 'NDrive' in the download list.

Firstly in order to import data you will need to either connect the device to your computer via a USB cable or remove the SD card (if applicable) and connect it directly to your PC. The information in the .KML file will not be recognised by your device until it has been extracted using the import function as described below.
From the main menu select 'My NDrive', then select 'Data Import/Export' Then, depending on what you wish to import, select 'Import Safety Cameras', 'Import Itineraries', or 'Import Favourites'.
You will see a list of files which can be imported, select a file by clicking on it and the import process will begin automatically. Once finished click [ OK ] you will be returned to the Data Import/Export screen. |

Would this be the cheapest and easiest way for someone wanting a stand-alone unit? |

Yes, it gives directional alerts. Or, at least, the download contains the directional data and previous versions of NDrive use it so I assume the current version does as well.
Regarding cheapest/easiest? Honestly not sure! Seems a decent price and if it does what you need it to do then yes.
If you only need speed camera warnings and not navigation then the CamerAlert app may be better? It's currently been removed from the Google Play Store because Google ignored the fact that they'd gave us an extension to get it up to date... But we can share the direct link if you want? Needs Android 10 or older though. New version currently being worked on for newer devices. |

Don’t need nav as have good system in car
Trying cameraAlert but unfortunately it doesn’t work with CarPlay
Waze does but they don’t do mobile sites which I want living in Wales since the 20mph rubbish.
Thought of android but ideally I want a stand alone device that comes on and off automatically with ignition and runs PGPSW database

bought unit to try but device not seeing files on sd card
also tried Ndrive Nplus software but thats not seeing device

That's annoying. Maybe contact Binatone as their manual states that it should?
And if not then I'm pretty sure you've got good grounds to return it if it doesn't do the thing in the manual that you bought it for...! |

| Make sure that the SD card is formatted correctly, i.e. something like FAT32. That may be the problem. |
