My current map version is 2024.20 but there's no offer of an update.

My new 2025.10 map has nearly finished downloading.
There's a recent Express update - maybe check it out ?

I tried to download last night, updated GE and got to approx. 2.7% of map download and, then, received an error message.

Thinking that it might be due to everybody trying to download at the same time, I tried again this morning and the same thig happened.

Have others had a problem with the download?

Yes, this happened a few times. In the end I downloaded it to my computer and used Mapinstall. That went fine.

Using MapInstall rather than Express is only sensible on older devices. Most modern devices require Express as a 'map update' does more than simply update the map.

You could try removing your device from Express, reboot your computer and then re-add your device to Express. That often resolves issues after an Express update.

Thought I was doing too well, used the unit today, no voice guidance everything Americanised, no option to change keyboard to english.

I have managed to download the voice pack but I tried to restore the unit but it is still the same, tried Garmin support and there isnt an email to contact only questions and responses, anyone got any ideas please?

Downloaded too. No issues to report.

Full download is 11.13Gb (according to GE) whereas 2024.20 was 10.62Gb

Key differences between 2025.10 files and 2024.20 for those with full European coverage. Note file numbers usually increment in '10s' so 'xxx270' rolls over to 'xxx290'.

2025.10
Gmapprom.img - 3,321,408 (North)

D6165290A.jcv - 234,462 (North)
D6212290A.jcv - 188,506 (South)

2024.20

Call Garmin on their UK freephone number. I assume by 'restore the unit' you did a master reset as that is the first thing they will ask you to do.
