VW Golf MK7.5 Discover Media

Hi All, I have a VW Golf MK 7.5, which has a Discover media sat nav unit.

If I were to sign up to the PocketGPSWorld subcription, from the compatibility list, I hear Garmin is what I chose to download POIs for speed camera's.

Can you tell me which ones from the list as there are several under Garmin.

Under VW it only lists the older RNS 510. So which is it?

Can you post a photo of the map screen and/or see if there's any mention of Garmin in the About page in the settings?

If it IS running Garmin then I suspect it would be the POI Loader version that you need.

It may also be worth checking in the manual to see if there's any mention of adding speed cameras, custom POI etc.

Unfortunately we don't have access to every available device so it's impossible, really, to confirm or not!

So I found out from a VW forum that Garmin has the best compatibility with the file structure VW uses. And uses CSV file.

Also confirmed it is POI Loader version.

So with that sorted, is the camera database using the latest SPECS cameras for recent contraflow roadworks put in place e.g. A40 in london?

Some manufacturer headunits do indeed allow user POI's

However, these POI's are just that, places you can save as a quick method to setup as 'navigate to' points

Speed cameras require the ability to allow advance warnings on approach and to my knowledge manufacturers stopped this function years ago
