The Garmin web site still says:
Current Map Version 2024.10 (Europe) as of April 19th,2023.
Are we to assume they pulled the latest version? |

The Garmin website isn't known for being up-to-date, especially on downloads where the older version often takes a while to be replaced. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

I have a notification of an update to Cyclops for my DriveSmart51 but nothing concerning a new map. |

Latest from Garmin
We have discovered some download issues with this map update and have rolled it back to 2024.10. We are actively investigating and hope to have the issue resolved soon.
Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve the issue. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I downloaded ok as soon as it came out and 2024.20 works ok for me. Wonder what the issue is/was. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

For me, when downloading 2024.20 to both device and computer, it nearly bust my computer C drive (small) capacity (it made it go red in File Explorer). There was a 24Gb total reduction in C drive availability.
Perhaps that is the issue at stake.
(I wish I could download it to my big D drive, but I can't. I have to move it across afterwards with Javawa).

I hate anything that is forced onto the C drive
Thanks for the reminder. I'll delete all that Garmin stuff now I don't use mine.
Glad I built in that maintenance page with links into the Converter, that'll make finding it all quicker.
Not that my PC is short of space with a 1Tb M.2 C drive and 3 X 2Tb data drives, all SSD _________________ DashCam:

Checked my hard disk and the file sizes for the last 3 maps that I installed to PC (as well as Nuvi) were (for full Europe):
2024.20 - 7.18 Gb
2024.10 - 7.13 Gb
2023.10 - 6.39 Gb _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

All done and dusted
The download was quicker under full fibre but not lightning quick, took half an hour _________________ DashCam:

Interestingly they have kept the same number, 2024.20. This is at variance with the past and indicates that it was an issue downloading to certain devices rather than a map problem. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

If you expand out the "Installation Options", you can choose the destination directory.
I don't know how long that option has been there; I created a symlink for C:\ProgramData\Garmin =} D:\Garmin many moons ago.
The installation is doing things on my Zumo 346 that I don't remember seeing before...
It started by refusing to find the Zumo, so I had to embark on changing it back to MTP mode. It's so long since I last did that, I'd forgotten how! While I was in there, I stumbled into "UPDATE" and it offered to download the map directly to the unit, over WiFi; I don't recall it ever offering to do that before.
I've left it doing its thing ("We've got it from here"). Directly above that message, it still says "Zumo 346 - not connected" |
