I have just switched to STA (paid for version) from Camera Alert. I have downloaded the Road network data. I have been through the various settings and think I have them set correctly.
The "Map" options in the menu (Mode, directions, traffic) remain steadfastly greyed out. How are these activated? I can find no reference to them in the Help screens.

Uncheck "Speedometer" option in the menu. Then the map will appear.

Is it possible to make it available for use in Norway/Scandinavia?
It is possible.
But the app interface and alerts speech are only in English and French.
Would you like to join "beta-testers" program ? Currently, there is exactly the same version of the app as in the production and I've just made it available for Norway, Sweden, Finland.
To join the program click this link in your phone:

Why I suggest this?
The app currently is not adapted for Norway/Scandinavia. No instructions, camera database, or anything else. It can't be published right now, otherwise I'll get plenty of 1-star reviews in Google Play.

Leo_A,
I've installed database "pocketgps_eur_sc", looks GREAT!
Next week, I'll be travelling from Sandefjord to Bergen (across mountains), then south to Stavanger, then around the southern tip of Norway.
So I'll have plenty of time and mileage to test STA!
Next beta version 1.2.7 (106) seems to be available.
New in this version: now it is possible to like or dislike cameras when you pass it and to leave some feedback in camera properties popup.
PGPSW now provides camera database ID, you can see it on the second picture. It is prepended with 'PGPSW' prefix. The number after the prefix is the same as the number in 'GATSO:12345@30' record.
First three reports are made in movement. The last one is made by me on the map.
Sort order - negative feedbacks (Not here, wrong limit, bad location) go first. Then the time is applied.
Possible values of "type" field : "NotHere", "BadLocation", "OppositeWay", "WrongLimit", "Other", "OK".
OK - is confirmation.
"created" field: UTC time of feedback.
"fromMap" field: false - made in movement, true - via camera properties popup.
"interval" parameter in the endpoint URL is the duration in ISO8601 format https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601#Durations.
P1M - selects feedback sent last month
P1D - last 24 hours
P6M -last half year
P1Y - last year.
