|
|
Its been 5 years since an update, and now doesn't fit the screen of modern iPhones.
Will it every be updated please? I'm looking to subscribe, but not sure if the app will last, and get better interface.
Does it work on CarPlay now? Can the app be opened and ran in the background when using CarPlay so even if no route is plotted, it still warns as you drive?
I'll attach a screenshot when I can work out how |

It is very unlikely it will be updated. _________________ DashCam:

It is something that is being looked at. That's all I can say at this time. |

I have used CA with iPhones 5, 5S, 6, 8, 12 and now 14 Plus, at least with these models I have seen no screen fitting problems. Or may be light overlapping with time and speed box, some extra space would be needed on the top of the screen.
Unfortunately my car's order/production has been postponed, still need to wait, hopefully only 4-6 months, before I can test your Apple Car play question. |

You probably won't need Carplay for verbal warnings.
CA should connect to your head unit via Bluetooth and simply play over the car speakers. _________________ DashCam:

That is very true Kremmen, so we have done for years (with some challenges when (in)coming call destroys bluetooth connection and you needed to restart. But nowadays none calls so time solved this problem, if that still exists.
But, there would still be need for full compatibility to Apple car play. Wouldn't it ne nice if you could start CA from the car's display and voice comes truely from car's speakers, no like now, as bt-call, would it |

That's what I like about Android Speedtrap Alert. Being newer it allows a multimedia connection so doesn't come through as a pseudo phone call.
Plus it does as you say and it auto starts when it detects a connection. _________________ DashCam:

With the iPhone’s relatively new ‘Focus’ mode, you can set a Driving Focus to perform certain functions. I have mine set so that when the iPhone connects to Apple Carplay it automatically opens and runs the CamerAlert app at the same time. |

A very useful feature. That's how STA works.
Auto starts and connects on detecting the car headunit becoming active, same as Android Auto and my Garmin DS61.
All I have to do is power up and wait a short while _________________ DashCam:

Looking for a developer if anyone knows anyone that specialises in GPS-based apps? |

I have an nft tag in the car. I get in, I scan the tag with my iPhone, it turns the volume to maximum, it opens my podcast app (because that's what I listen to most in the car) and it opens CamerAlert so I'm ready to go. It works well. |
