Just out of interest, as far as I can see, TomTom no longer sell a device with built in SIM for traffic and POI searches. Only seem to do link to smartphone. _________________ Dennis

I think that's correct Dennis as all the new "NAV6" models do indeed rely on using a smartphone which is maybe due to the uncertainly of the lifetime of the various older networks, eg 2G is meant to be closing in the UK (and already has in some countries) etc etc so the 16% who don't own a smartphone will need to dig out their old paper maps etc.
For us oldies the non-ownership jumps to 47%! Now where did I put my A-Z?
Above info from here:- https://www.finder.com/uk/mobile-internet-statistics
As far as I can see these include:-
GO Exclusive (7")
GO Discover (5"/6"/7")
GO Essential (5"/6")
GO Classic (5"/6")
Rider 500 (4.3")
Rider 550 (4.3")
Go Camper Tour (6")
GO Camper Max (7")
GO Expert (5"/6"/7") |

It's a shame TT have done this. I would have preferred them to charge for a 4G SIM in their devices and traffic etc services. Much better to have an all inclusive device instead of messing about linking to another. _________________ Dennis
