Just V2 at the moment :
When the database is identified as out of date it will throw a dialogue to update.
The idea being to help ensure the correct database is downloaded.

Another change.
One problem for some seems to be navigating to where the PGPSW file has been downloaded.
The default Windows location is - 'C:\Windows\[UserName]\Downloads'
You can set some browsers, like I have, to get each download to ask where to download to.
In either case this small change will assist.
Step 1 is to launch the selection tool :
Once selected you will get a selection tree :
By default it should show this :
In my case, I redirect my PGPSW download to D:\PGPSW\PGPSW :
So this is where I have selected :
Once selected, when you opt to unzip the database file :
It will automatically navigate to the correct location :
If you select the wrong location you can go again till you get it right.
This is beta so let me know of any issues.
This change only applies to the Converter Version 2 :

Sadly if you are using Firefox that option has just been removed in version 98.
It can be overidden for now but who knows when Firefox will prevent users doing that. |

Interesting link but for me the 'Save As' feature is still working as it always has.
I click to download a file and I get 2 options :
Open with Firefox or Save As
In the case of PGPSW I 'Save As' and direct the zip file to my 'Working Folder'
In the case of my online bank statements I 'Open with Firefox' then print it without saving.
Both are still working as expected and how they have for me for years with no surprises.
I note the article refers to FF version 91 and above and is dated last year so I'm a bit puzzled as I've noticed no changes to the way I work. _________________ DashCam:

These changes were first mooted at FF 91 but only just implemented. Possibly they will get some backlash and revert the change. As to why yours is working, I am baffled, it may change next update. |

Or it could be just as simples doing an uninstall, then reinstalling, that might fix the issue. _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 50 LMT-D App 5.90

I could be totally wrong but I can't see FF forcing all downloads into your Downloads folder with no other option. _________________ DashCam:

*** Important ***
It has been reported, and confirmed, that Garmin have messed with the speeds that warnings are issued.
I suspect they have changed the tolerances due to similar reports that we've seen here that at some speeds Garmin would not issue any warning for a camera if you were driving well below the limit and not accelerating.
The reported problem is that at 17mph Garmin are triggering the Overspeed in a 20 zone.
From my testing in a 30 zone, I now need to set the Converter pseudo limit to 37mph to not get a 30mph warning.
I still need to test all other speeds but it's looking like the variable Overspeed screen may have to be changed to cater for this Garmin change.
In the meantime, if you are being plagued by Overspeed warnings then set the Overspeed Seconds to zero and that will suppress the warning until I get all the data and change the program.
Hope that makes sense. _________________ DashCam:

After investigation I've updated the Converter V2 only as a beta test.
This is the updated Overspeed screen :
The new adjustment fields can be adjusted to avoid the new situation where overspeed warnings are being issued when you are actually driving at or under the speed limit.
As posted above I know from armchair testing that at 30mph the actual value needed in the overspeed file is 37mph or you will receive incorrect warnings.
I have only tested via the Garmin GPS Simulator so I can't test speeds other than the max road speed that the simulator uses.
If 36mph triggers incorrectly but 37mph does not trigger then I'm assuming that 39mph, in the file, won't trigger until you are actually doing 33mph but this will need testing live.

I have just changed from a Nav 5 to a Zumo XT. The speed icons showed clearly on my Nav but are so small on my XT that I can hardly see them. Being very uncomputer literate can someone please help me. Thanks |

You need to change from the 22x22 icons to the 44x44 set.
Replace the ones in the working folder with the 44's in the download package. _________________ DashCam:

I haven't looked recently but I obtained the various icon sets from here.
The latest Garmins, as you've found, have higher resolution screens and the original 22x22 are very small on these screens.
It's very simple to switch sets and your friend will be able to help I'm sure.
However, the main snag you may encounter is when you update the database. It may overwrite the 44's back to 22's.
If you can use the Converter that overrides that issue as I have included code just to extract the camera files.
I would recommend the Converter for just this reason. _________________ DashCam:
