|
|
Been using STA for a while (on a Huawei P30Pro) and have been updating the database weekly (manually), so when the auto update option became available I was over that like a rash. ;)
But on my route back from Clacton, that I do at least once a month, I noticed that the Penultimate spec camera on the A12 was being spoken as if it was the end of the average speed camera section. Where as there was one more camera to go. Also confirmed on my Sat Nav.
I thought it was a one off but last week I did a trial where I used the auto down loaded database for the first journey there. (It missed the last actual camera) and on the second journey I used the manual down loaded database. (Where it announced the cameras correctly!)
Any idea as to why this might be happening as they should be the same data and the cameras on my Sat Nav were also correct.....

If you can identify the camera(s) by number I'll have a look.
I found a similar one on the M4 that MaFt corrected. The start/middle/end need to be correctly tagged as STA uses a different system to ID the cameras. _________________ DashCam:

Yes, that's the same issue as the M4 one.
Go into the submission map and change the type from just "Specs Average Speed" to the appropriate option of the 3 options below :
Specs, Start, Average Speed
Specs, Middle, Average Speed
Specs, End, Average Speed
That will/should be picked up for next Wednesday and accredited to you. _________________ DashCam:

172495 needs to be MIDDLE from what I can tell.
172496 is already an END.
I think it's 172495 causing the issue. From memory if an average speed camera isn't marked as MIDDLE then STA assumes it is an END (as in most specs would be in pairs - 1st is start, 2nd is end)
If you submit that change it can be linked to you. Failing that I'll do it but you won't get any reward |

Submitted both, 'middle' for 172495 and 'end' for 172496.
plus I'm already a life time member.
It was just strange that if I manually down loaded them it worked correctly but using the auto down load did not..... |

SPECS without any attribute (mid, end, etc) stops current av. section. |

Just to let everyone know, it now works as it should. Via the auto upgrade option. |
