For the first time I tried to download the database over the new over the air feature and I am getting the following error message "attempted to perform an unauthorised operation"
I logged on using my PocketGPSWorld login details as I use for the site but no luck.
Using a Samsung Galaxy S9+, I have tried both deleting the previous database first and leaving it in place but still comes up with the same error.
Also no difference if I check or uncheck pmobiles. _________________ Malcolm

Check that login and password are valid.
I understand that this is "captain obvious" advice, but I haven't seen yet other reasons for such message during testing. |

Leo thanks for reply I have rechecked my login details and they are correct.
I also logged out of the website and then back in again using them and that worked OK.
Perhaps later I shall try and change my password and see if that works. _________________ Malcolm

Leo
Thanks for the suggestion of checking password, I have now updated it on the site and download is now working.
I have updated to something simple and only 10 characters in length, the previous one that was not working on the app was 16 characters long but also included special characters maybe this was causing the problem. _________________ Malcolm

I use CamerAlert on an iPhone. I think that you're correct that special characters in a password cause a problem for the PGPSW camera database user validation process. Years ago I had to change my password to remove a special character and once I'd done that, the CamerAlert app would download using my account details.
MaFt, could you confirm that this is the case? If it is, would it be possible to allow the use of special characters in passwords?

How do I get the beta version? Mine is 1.2.03 ? When I press update database nothing happens. |
Open this link in your phone:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.aleprojects.speedtrapalert
it will suggest you to join beta-channel. Then latest beta-version will be available for you.
Or wait for several days, I'll promote current beta to production.
In-app-purchase is kept in both variants. |
I've got 1.2.04 (full) and have been registered for the beta testing program for quite a while, I don't get the beta versions though. |

Check in Google Play.
From memory I had to enter a beta area to accept download. _________________ DashCam:

I've gone to the areas that Google say should contain beta on my 'phone but there is no tab for it. |

Send Leo a message via Google Play
That may get to him quicker. _________________ DashCam:

Confused Despite it being listed as "full", 1.2.04 must be the beta version as I've had time to go in, add my login details and download a (single) database file.
Great job Leo |

Special characters CAN be used in passwords for PGPSW. I've just never known why they don't work in CamerAlert and now in SpeedTrap Alert. |

You can't, or couldn't, use special characters in the database.
I've had a few instances where an existing chevron has been trapped as an illegal character and prevented a change. _________________ DashCam:

There is a bug in current beta: it sends unescaped login form data. If password has some special symbols, authentication can fail. |

Hi Leo
Did you see my lockup problem when Google Navigation is running in the foreground and STA in the background ?
I've got STA transmitting via BT to the car head unit for car system alerts. _________________ DashCam:
