No warning sound

Hi. I can only get a warning sound when my iPhone 8 is connected (via BT) with my car and the audio system is connected to media.

I can't get audi warnings when the car radio is on or if I am not connected to the cars audio system (in someone else's car or on a motorbike)

Warnings an notifications come up fine. Been like this since I upgraded iPhone 6S to 8.

Any idea where to start, I've tried changing virtually all the settings

If you have the radio on is your phone still connected via BT? If so then it'll be sending the audio to the stereo but you've chosen to hear the radio instead.

Another thing to test as well, as you say it doesn't work in someone else's car - I assume you're not connected via BT in that instance? In the settings in CamerAlert go to the audio settings and tap to play a sample of a voice etc then as soon as you do that hit the volume up button on your phone. It might be that the volume only affects the current audio.

By the way, I haven't used an iPhone for many years....

Hi MaFt, thanks for replying to my query.

The phone connects to my car all the time via BT, for telephone etc. When the radio/cd/media head unit in the car is set to 'Media' the car looks for audio files, podcasts etc on the phone etc. When the head unit is in media mode the camera warning alert sounds come through the car audio fine. No problem.

When the car audio unit is set to radio or CD I don't get anything through the car audio or from the phone itself when a camera alert goes off. The phone does work however and incoming calls are picked up fine.

I will try playing with the volume button when trying to play a sample voice / alert noise and report back.

Please, check in settings/warnings that you audio route is "correct". At least in my iPhone 8 and audio route bluetooth, the warnings come also in radio mode. The warning is like you get a telephone call.
