Or as I mentioned earlier it's where you drive as most of it seems to be in Scotland, maybe the system there isn't as good as elsewhere in updating the various map providers like HERE.

You keep trying to make excuses for it. You said earlier maybe Scottish council's aren't as good at notifying navigation companies - well TomTom and Google manage fine.

Several of the errors I highlighted are over a decade old.

Hi mccririck,

TomTom, Google, and Here will all use different methods for obtaining data or their maps. No (SatNav or paper) map is ever 100% accurate. However, all map providers will attempt to have the maps as accurate as possible. That's why they have ways that users can summit map updates/changes to them.

I haven't reported it as I don't have the time.

You've had 10 years to report the map errors. May I suggest that you:

1. Report the map errors to Here
2. Once Here has made the changes check that Garmin has as well.
3. If changes are not made then email the CEO of the relevant company.
4. If the problem is POIs, then use your own custom POIs.

Regards,

Some time back, I realised that every time I drove to a friend's house, the Garmin was telling me to drive round two long sides of a triangle, rather than across the single short side. I wondered why.

Looking at the Here map, I discovered that the short side was marked as an unpaved road - it wasn't! Initially, I cured the problem by unchecking "Avoid Unpaved roads". Then I went into the Here system and flagged the road as paved. It was accepted by Here and the very next Garmin map update had it fixed. Likewise, entry to a local back road was changed in an attempt to stop it being used as a rat-run. Initially, the turning information was wrong. I submitted corrections and again they soon came through on the Garmin.

So my advice is "if it's wrong, submit corrections or stop complaining"
