First of all, big thank you for Camera Alert, it is brilliant!
The ONLY thing I can think of to make it better would be a night mode so it is not as bright. Like the tomtom night colours. Please, Please.
I hope I am not out of line posting in here.

we have an 'almost' night mode on the iphone version. you can change the menu colours and list view to a black background instead of white. the android version only comes in black.
however, we are limited to what we can do with the maps... basically we can't do anything with them! one work around to make the maps darker is to use satellite / hybrid view as these are generally darker than the normal maps (unless you're driving in a desert, in which case that would still be quite bright.

We actually implemented a night mode for the normal map. It's part of the latest version that Apple is reviewing since a month... _________________ Lutz

That is not very likely given the generally dark theme on Android. Have a look at the "Screen Filter" free app in the Android Market. _________________ Lutz

I run Android CamerAlert in list mode at night, which I find gives enough information and the dark background is easier on the eye.
I also run the PGPSW camera database on my TomTom 950 (but with not warnings as CamerAlert does that for me) so I can see on the map where the camera sites actually are.

I find that the Cameralert iOS app is not very effective when in night mode.
Yes, the overall screen dims but in doing so, the map fades becoming illegible & taking too long too see the roads clearly. The cameras are great, being very bold they really stand out.
I am hoping that you will consider changing the background to black, with perhaps grey roads. The Waze night mode seems to be very effective at giving you a clear map & the information quickly without being bright.
Thanks |

In the manual at http://www.cameralert.com/manual/ios there are instructions in section 3.

The process will give you a silly CAxxxxx forum username. You then have to jump through a few hoops to link the app to your current username. |

I prefer night mode while using any of my gadgets so that i can avoid the brightness. The brightness affects my eyes when it is too much. |
