Have a look on the Google Play STA listing.
Support contact is there. _________________ DashCam:

@Leo_a
I had a small move made to one of the problem Specs cameras at the location where STA is unexpectedly shutting down.
Today I received 2 separated alerts but STA still closed, but left the alert service running.
I'm going to try and track this down by removing cameras.
Ploy 1 is I'm going to remove both cameras from the database, 198396 and 198820.
If you remember, that was the location and direction I was getting a rogue "End of speed zone" warning when joining the M4, that you fixed.
It'll be Sunday when I next travel that section but as it only closes down STA 2 out of 3 journeys it could be a few weeks.
Then I'll reinstate each Specs one at a time to test. _________________ DashCam:

Today's journey with the 2 offending cameras removed and it stayed running.
Early days yet as it was shutting down 2 out of 3 journeys. I'll leave it as is for next week. _________________ DashCam:

I'm now using android auto via usb, if I want this to notifiy me through my car speakers must I enable it to work with BT or will audio go via USB as with music, etc?
Also with Google Early Access program for Android Auto, what is the possibility of getting this working with AA |

There is a bluetooth settings area within STA.
I set this to play via 'hft' and it works just as music and CA used to. However, this is not via Android Auto. _________________ DashCam:

yeh, i'm going to try that and see how it works as can listen to normal radio or own music while AA is running via USB, and still get the navigation instructions through car speakers. |

On mine CA and STA both act like a pseudo phone call, mutes the audio, issues the alert, then returns the audio.
Perfect as you don't get audio drowning out the alerts. _________________ DashCam:

Well I need to mess with it a bit more and work out the settings as no alerts while driving, but if I stop and open the app and test the alert it works.
I've downloaded the STA version of the database after initially downloading the igo version, the databases are loaded for mobile and normal.ive also downloaded the great Britain Road file.
I've set voice communication for BT which should be correct as media is either via radio or via USB and not sure if AA blocking the app from playing audio. |

Can you just go phone to car without AA.
I've got 'Enable hands-free mode for voice alerts' ticked.
Hands free mode settings both unticked.
Audio channel - 'Notifications and ringtone'
Audio settings - volume all 100%. _________________ DashCam:

I could in BT mode only, but as AA is working on my car only via USB, it makes more sense as phone can be under centre console and can see everything on rlink system.
Update: still needs further testing. If leave on map and have display off or on i get no notification of speed cams on the phone or through rlink.
If I set to speedometer and the BT I finally got an audio notification for a mobile Speed camera, but had to leave the screen on, which is one thing I don't wish to have to do.
This was tested on the Pixel 3XL running Android 11
I did install the app on a p20 Pro but never got chance to test. It odd because the app says in trial on 3xl but on p20 says expired, so not sure what they linking on and suggests cannot be moved to another device or the pixel 3xl has not detected the trial has expired
Update 2: Seems to be working a bit better but I'm sure Google have brought in more issues with Android 11 update as also noticing disconnections with my watch since getting the update.
Anyway I purchased the full version for some continued testing as definitely need to see if Android 11 has screwed up a lot of settings, initially the P20 Pro was still showing trial expired and on limited free version, it took about 5 - 10 minutes to register on the device that I had purchased the full version. |

Unfortunately, I have never tested STA with AA, no idea what to do, only experimental way. |

so far so good
made a lot of changes on the phone and got the audio notifications through car when using AA, so just a bit more testing to do
Now what would be good if could get it to fully work with AA so see a pop-up on the screen, but i think that will down to google allowing the app through AA itself |

Just bought new car with Android Auto built-in which replaced my previuous car (which had TomTom built-in and supported the PGPSW cameras). The new built-in satnav doesn't support 3rd part POIs and neither does the latest TomTom Android app which I tried out hoping I could still use PGPSW POIs.
Was just about to give up on using PGPSW cameras (which I've been using for decades!) but luckily just read the forums and thankfully this Speed Trap app works brilliantly. Allows me to use Google Maps or Waze through Android Auto and the speed trap alerts show on my phone and the alerts go through the speakers just as needed.
Thanks all! :-) _________________ (Older kit: TomTom Go Original, 910, 940 Live, 1005 Live and Snooper S4 Neo. Mazda TomTom NB1 built-in). |

Refugee from CamerAlert as just upgraded to a new Samsung phone...
Is there a way to get STA to only show a list of cameras and have a blank screen (aka do what CA does!) if none around? I don't use sat nav on the phone and don't like the massive speedo taking up half of the screen! |
