i want to have a backup card in case my CF card goes does while i'm out and about.
what i'm thinking of is having everything put onto a backup SD card so it for some reason the CF card fails, i can stick in the SD card.
is it best to install again onto the blank SD card or could i do a copy & paste type of thing and copy everything from the CF card onto the SD card?
this would be more preferable as ukpostcode is installed and the speed camera stuff. if i could copy and paste everything, i wouldn't have to reinstal those items.
what does everyone think? |

Simple copy and paste will do, but you will need to make sure that your copy utility sees the system and hidden files (like DLLs)
Also, this only helps against card failures. If your main memory is wiped then you're outta luck. So before you backup your card, make sure you backup your Pocket PC ONTO that card. _________________ Lutz

kind of. You should not copy the Pocket PC contents, you should use a backup program to make a backup of non-ROM files and of the registry and databases.
This backup is between 5 and 15 MB - so you need to reserve that much space on the memory card.
If you own an iPAQ with enough iPAQ File Store space then you can also do the backup to that - the ideal solution. _________________ Lutz

Sprite Backup is the undisputed leader in this area. _________________ Lutz
