|
|
I have been Geotagging/Geocoding all my photographs for some years. I started off using the Holux IGotU, it's nice and small but the flashing LEDs don't give a lot of operation about what it is doing so I changed to the Holux GPSport245 which I been using for some time. It is much better though the menus are a bit messy to use.
But it has a hard life and the screen got cracked then more recently it seems to switch itself off for no reason, it could be that the battery needs replacing but not sure whether worth bothering because of the cracked screen.
I have been looking around for alternatives but there does not seem a lot around. There is now GPSport 245 Lite though it is not clear what the difference is without printing out all the specifications and putting them side by side.
I need:
Internal batter charged from PC with enough battery life to last a long day.
Ability to select logging by distance or time - down for very short intervals.
Display available of position, direction etc so can see what is going on.
Reasonably small so can leave hanging around my neck.
Are there any newer models around or do I have do buy another GPSport 345?

Garmin eTrex 10 ?
If you have an Android or Apple PDA there are a number of apps available to do this sort of stuff. _________________ Brian Abbott

If by chance you use an iOS device the Bad Elf GPS Pro is a standalone logger that would appear to do all you are asking for. It's iOS app lets you configure/download/manipulate the data
I recall that it was reviewed on this forum last year |

I have misplaced my Holux GPSport 245 so looking for a replacement.
Getting rather fed up with spurious matches on GOOGLE.
Has anyone any recommendations for a small GPS tracker like the 245, there is now 245+ but not seeing on sale in the UK. Or for any companies stocking GPS trackers. |
