If I pay for the PocketGPSworld database and download it will I be able to put them on my Garmin Drivesmart 55? Also will it give me spoken alerts and an icon on the map or just a tone? |

Yes to all. But one might ask why you would actually want to do the last one. |

Because some motorway cameras the Garmin misses which the CamerAlert database gets and visa versa so good to be covered by both... |

Ok, I once played that game (just to see how up to date Cyclops was). But don't forget to report the missing ones from PGPSW for a free year's subs.
As an aside, when I was .... enough to run both, I never found one that Cyclops had but PGPSW didn't, other than ones that were distant 'misses' for the actual cam location. |

Nice, tbf I've only ever used pocketgpsworld database via CamerAlert app before it stopped working on my Samsung device but it was only the free version and it always used to say update. I've yet to try the database since becoming a paid subscriber.
It looks a brilliant database I loaded it to the Speedtrap Alert app last night and it looks brilliant when you see all the camera locations on the map etc. Well worth the subscription. |

STA is the 'unofficial' alternative for those folk who on who's phone CA no longer works.
Disadvantage is that you have to remember to update, BUT you don't get the bl***y person nagging you every time you start up. |

But that won't bang on about it every time you start SCA. |

If you want more control over the way the PGPSW cameras are handled then try my Converter:
'Last Page of Converter'
One proviso, that you've already discovered, all Garmin third party cameras are not 'directional' so you get a warning for all cameras whichever way you are approaching them from _________________ DashCam:

If you load the PGPSW database straight onto the Garmin via POILoader then you take all the default options that Garmin force on you.
36 seconds advance warning, no alert if Garmin detects you are under the limit by 'enough', duplicate warnings for things like motorway cameras where they are back to back.
With the Converter their are a lot of options _________________ DashCam:

How do you get it to work? I clicked on the link you posted and downloaded the files but I'm not sure how to get that screen up you screenshotted where you can change the warning time etc?
Also when the new database comes out and I update my sat nav with them, Do I just download the zip file the same as the first time and bang them on my sat nav or do I need to go in my sat nav folder and delete all the previous months database off before putting the new ones on? |

If you've downloaded the zip file. Extract it.
In there is a number of manuals in various formats. If you read through the one you choose, .doc, .pdf, or whatever, all is explained in detail with screenshots _________________ DashCam:
