Right ....
So in my case, it's running in the background, maybe, but the Speedo has gone, back to phone home screen, and the alerts have stopped.
When I tap the icon to fire up STA again the speedo appears with the usual "- -" and after a few seconds the speed and average speed appears.
Over to Leo .......
Wonder if there's any log as I'm sure it happened last time. _________________ DashCam:

Update for Leo ....
End of average zone now not announced at M4 junction 10, job done.
Another thing I've noticed of late, the actual spoken message via BT is coming out as "nd of average speed zone" or "d of average speed zone" and not the full "end of average speed zone". Seemscto be truncating the word "end".
It's only this message I've noticed. _________________ DashCam:

Not been through any average speed cameras recently but will be tomorrow so will look out for same thing.
I have the units set to imperial (mph, mi, yd) is there any way the voice alert could be changed to say e.g. next in 2.5 miles rather than next in 2.5 m i.
Thanks again Leo for all your hard work in bringing us all this splendid app it really is appreciated. _________________ Malcolm

The overspeed bia BT also works perfectly.
As I was travelling along the North Circular the limit clearly changed from 40 to 50 but the database didn't.
I got a mile of 'Slow Down'
Once I've offloaded the dashcam footage I'll pinpoint it and submit it. _________________ DashCam:

Did not hear this happen today on the average speed checks on M4.
All was clear.
Although I did not pinpoint it to submit, it appears that on the Westbound carriageway roadworks around junction 16 at Swindon there is no end Specs camera so was continuing to get slow down continuously after exiting the section, there was no problem Eastbound. _________________ Malcolm

Are you sure ?
I don't get that slow down prompt when overdoing it on roads without cameras. _________________ DashCam:

I thought you were talking about non-temporary fixed speed limits, rather than temp one policed by SPECS. If you 'know what you are doing', double tap the alert to cancel the nag.
The constant nagging (In your case wrong speed limit SPECS or no valid END SPECS so SCA thinks it is still in a SPECS zone has been mentioned to Leo before. And he obviously thinks that a 6 second gap is enough. It would pee me off greatly. You can however easily get around this as I have by turning off the SPECS overspeed alert |

Which bit of the STA speedo screen cancels the nag ? _________________ DashCam:

Great app and picked up some great tips reading through the thread. Couple of questions you can hopefully help with.
Is it possible to start the app when another app is opened e.g TomTom go so I don't have to keep opening it manually?
Also I sometimes don't get an audible notification on a camera...is that because the current speed is below a certain value e.g only doing 50 in a 70 when alert is triggered.
Thanks |

I'm getting alerts for all cameras regardless of speed.
There are a lot of settings to go through and can be a bit daunting but I'm sure there is a speed related setting you may have inadvertantly increased. _________________ DashCam:

loving this app after I stumbled over it after an Android 11 update for Pixel.
Cameralert is long dead !
When using Google maps navigation the speed widget was frozen (I have killed the app battery optimization as mentioned now) and zero alerts. Re opening STA brought the alerts back.
lot's of settings to review, glad someone is bothering to update THIS excellent app.
I paid for it immediately |

@Leo_A
I have looked on the STA website but can see no contact for support requests or dedicated STA forum.
I have posted here about creating custom alerts within the app as I did not wish to hijack this thread.
Please could you give it a look and give me your thoughts
Kind regards
