Plan to visit Spain in a few weeks time (Coronavirus permitting!). I intend to use my nuvi 2699 there.
Apart from changing mph to kph, do I need to change any other settings? Not concerned about the speed cameras as I always attempt to abide by the speed requirements.
Finally, can nuvi 2699 be set up now to see a "demo" of ride from Spain Airport to vacation location? |

Nope, just change to Kms. You can always preview routes, just set your device to simulation mode. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Apologies for newbie question - I could not see this simulation option. Will it simulate from UK to Spain or Spain section only, which is what I need. |

First set simulation mode, then zoom out and scroll across to the airport in Spain, zoom in, click on a point and select Set location. Your nuvi will then simulate the route from there, now choose the destination and hit Go just as you would normally, your nuvi will then navigate along that route.

Thanks a lot. Found it via settings. Also Apps and then Trip Planner works as well. |

You'll be fine.
You may find your satnav takes a few minutes to locate your position if you're driving off from the airport in a hire car. |

If you plug in the satnav to the rental car before you do any thing else it will give the device a chance to locate it's location.
Also before you go to Spain have a play on Google Maps to understand your journey and locatiion you are visiting. Take a screen grab and print it to provide backup to the SatNav. |

I think the more astute (older) folk would probably take an ordinary paper map as a 'back up'. |

I have a feeling that the Garmin has an option to automatically choose the correct speed measurement (KM/miles)?? |
