As my Tomtom Start no longer works, I am thinking of getting a Garmin Dash cam 46 primarily for use with the PGPSW database. I am assuming that as the 45 is listed the 46 should work as well but does anyone know for sure?
And can it show the icons and speak the PGPSW voices? If so does it support MP3 or do I need to use WAV? Any help gratefully received. |

From memory when I reviewed the 45 it did not do any voice sounds - just the standard 'beeps' for alerts. If the 46 has GPS then I suspect it will work with the database in the same way as the 45. |

Thanks. The fact I could not find anything out there about the voices did have me worried. I've gotten so used to listening to the voices (as the car makes so many other beeps!) so I'll have to think of some other solution. It was all so easy in the old days! |

I bought a dashcam that was just a dashcam. There are so many bad reports out there concerning fancy features I opted for a simple discrete one with a solid mount and a good quality Sony HD lens.
For speed cam voices I use SpeedTrap Alert on my phone that uses the PGPSW database and has the voices. If you can pair your phone to your car you may be able to have the warnings play thriugh the car system. _________________ DashCam:
