Hi,

CameraAlert with Android 10 crashes on opening on Samsung 10, Is there an Android 10 fix on the horizon or is this the end of PocketGPSWorld and CamerAlert?

Cheers

CamerAlert is just the in-house app for the database.

The database still works on a multitude of devices and apps. If, as I suspect, you are a Samsung owner then try SpeedTrap Alert that is a very able CA replacement.

Hi,

Thanks for the info', Speedtrap Alert is excellent.

I"m assuming if I spot an active mobile site I'll need to add an update through the PocketGPSWorld site in addition to Speedtrap Alert.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers.

Yes, if you spot a new, removed or changed camera then try to remember the details and report manually here.

This is where a dashcam is useful.

I'm also a long term user/subscriber of CA and have a Samsung S9+ which has recently updated to Android 10 and as a result CA no longer works.

Is this the end of CA for newer Android users or will there be an update?

I'm aware of the Soeedtrap Alert app.

That's twice you have asked that question. How many different/same answers do you want?

To clarify 2 points:

1) It is still being looked into
2) CamerAlert works on Android 10 - BUT Samsung have changed something on THEIR version of Android 10 that stops the app from running.

Thank you for the sensible reply. It's the first time that someone has actually said it is being looked at and that it is a Samsung issue and not Android 10. I'll wait and see......

The sensible reply is actually a repeat of exactly the same user's sensible reply that he has posted at least once elsewhere within the last few days. Shocked Twisted Evil

Is there any progress on the issue of CA not working on Samsung Axxx phones with Android 10?

If not can someone confirm if a fix is not going to happen.

Many thanks.

Hi there

Just wanted to add that since my Moto has updated to Android 10, I've lost sound notifications on CamerAlert.

Hope this is resolved soon.

Kind regards

If that also includes looking into it for iOS users, I think it might be helpful to point out that the looking now seems to have been going on for longer than it took to write CamerAlert in the first place.

No brownie points!

Best plan is to use Speed Trap Alert with the PGPSW database.
