Does it display the average speed through the specs zones? That is the major win for me. _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

I believe it does yes. There are dedicated settings for configuring average speed. Give it a try , there is a free trial and is less than a couple of quid to buy should you decide to use it beyond the trial.

Ref: Speedtap alert. Didn't see option to download camera data base for it? Long day so may have missed it |

From whatI have seen, you have to download the database in IGO format. Three bars in top left, Settings, Databases. Add it from there. I believe each time you update the database, you then use the three dots in top right and Update databases.
From what I understand, i haven't installed it yet. _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

Just download CSV database and import into the app from Settings - Database. No need to unzip as the app will do that automatically for you. Check out the apps online help from the settings, it explains all compatible database formats. |

I use it and find it pretty good.
It handles SPECS reasonably well and does give you your current average speed readout that is reset at each camera passed.
If you import the GB road data, you get other good stuff like speed limits, and the SPECS work better with that loaded as well. |

Don't use any old CSV file.
Use the iGO ~ "UK - single file with all cameras" database as this has got directional data which SpeedTrap Alert uses correctly. Again, no need to unzip. You get a .txt file with the cameras and another with the pending (awaiting verification) mobile cameras. You can select either (or not) or both within SpeedTrap Alert.

This Speedtrap Alert has potential if CA becomes obsolete on newer Android versions.
Bit of a faff to setup but once done seems to work OK. Works through car system like CA and has a nifty feature that when it detects, or loses, a selected Bluetooth device it turns on or off automatically.
I'll hold on to it as a backup. _________________ DashCam:

Web stuff on speedtrap-alert.com |
Does STA continue monitoring average speed in the background or spilt screen?
I've found, when using Waze, that CA forgets your average speed if not the primary app running. |

It has a popup with current speed and average displayed over the top of any foreground program such as Waze. Or if it is running in the foreground, it's a banner at the top of the screen. |

I am Belgium bound so will try it with the European data base. I see cameras can be reported too, I wonder where they go? _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

I don't know. I'll ask the developer. One thing is for sure though, it won't be PGPSW.
Don't forget to load the country Road Network database.
Settings ~ Advanced settings ~ Road network ~ {plus} top right for the best experience. |

At best, new cameras' details will go to a text or .csv file which you can interrogate and send the details to PGPSW. At worse, the new reported cameras would go to a PGPSW competitor with no confirmation email so you wouldn't be able to send in a report to PGPSW.
Having said that, reading the replies to reviews in Google Play on 16 April 2019, it looks like the author of the app appreciates PGPWS:
