Strange how some people (not just you suss) bend stuff slightly to suit ther arguments isn't it. Most frequently done by poletitions.
The first of the 'fatal four' is 'Inappropriate Speed', not 'speeding'

Depends entirely on the definition of inappropriate speed and the distinction between inappropriate speed and a speed which exceeds the set speed limit (illegal speed). The two are not necessarily the same.

Possibly caught out myself today, not remembering I was driving a small Transit Courier, which is classed as a N1, even though a lot smaller and less powerful than a car. On a 3 lane stretch of the A14 it is easy to forget in a small vehicle like mine that it is only able to do 60mph on a dual carriageway, even though 70mph on a motorway. Hence I trundled past the (not in the database) site all smug at 70mph, only realising 10 minutes later I would have been clobbered! They raised the lorry limit from 40mph to 50mph due to advances in technology, why not 70/ 70 for light vans? Sorry, I don't take the "not for revenue" stance, sometimes it is there to catch you out. My fault entirely, my mind must have been elsewhere. GPS might have saved me, if it is calibrated to know the difference between the vehicle it is fitted into.

Unfortunately it is a risk of the job these days, but one Christmas postal item i could without RM delivering Rolling Eyes

I’d guess a mobile van is unlikely to pursue you for exceeding 60 on a dual carriageway - they may not have the confidence (or. Speed of recognition) to define you as not a Car Derived Van under 2,000kg.

My Kangoo van is CDV, but some Kangoos do exceed the 2,000kg and you can’t tell just by looking.
