Apparently now "resolved" according to their Community Manager although no apology, no explanation, no detail what/how it's been "resolved" etc etc
So (sadly, typically) inefficient/indifferent to their customers
"yup, sorted" |

After a protracted email exchange with TT Customer Support, they have acknowledged that there is a problem with TT Home on Mac OS X where users have a map on a microSD card (but HOME can't see it). It's with the developers for a fix. ETA unknown. |

do you seriously expect TomTom do do anything on TomTom Home. They are working hard to make any devices using Home defunct

Has anyone got the latest version of TomTom Home for OS X to run?
Now split into two versions: up to El Capitan, and Sierra & later.
The Sierra & later version won't even launch on my Mac. |

.....and lets have a look at that update: v2.20.10.1275
1) It now needs Java Development kit and installs that for you. I had lived without Java for several years as to my mind its a resource hog and an avenue for nasties to exploit your system
2) It also installs the Xcode debugging tool (which software shouldn't do on a public release), so expect the odd "Sampling Tools needs to take control of another process" and username & password request (which I cancel).
3) its downgraded my TomTom NavCore application from v9.541 (with WNRO fix) to v8.371
4) it still can't see my microSD card, even though it can see the map on it! So I remain unable to update my Europe map from v10.15 on my Go940 Live. That's over a year now.....
On the plus side, at least it launches! (unlike the previous version).
I dispair. |

Got it, so my XL Classic is now working again but my question is "why has it taken so bl**dy long for TT to sort the problem?" Whatever happened to testing before publishing. Absolutely disgraceful!

I hate to sound superior, but us elderlies would never ask that question where TomTom is concerned - we're hardened to it!!! _________________ Dennis

Yes, but nowhere near as disgraceful as Brexit. _________________ Dennis
