The CSV-GPX converter renames them to gatso_fifty.csv etc, so that they match the voice and icon files gatso_fifty.wav and gatso_fifty.bmp.
Unless these three files have the same filename (minus extension), the alerts/icons will not work properly on a Garmin for which the program was really designed. |
maybe it was one of the older versions that didnt do this? Its just force of habit now I guess |

Just use the converter's download button, followed by the unzip button (which does the renaming for you) then click the process button. All done. Simples. |

Thanks M
There are a number of unzip options but once you have your desired sound and picture files in place then just use the 'camera unzip', in bold, weekly, and the job is done in minutes.
The various unzip options:
Cameras only
WAV only
BMP only
All
Has been there for years, certainly a few years before 2015. _________________ DashCam:

I will need to have a play to see what differences there are. Looking at the files it downloads it looks like it only has the single REDLIGHT warning but my version has redspeed for all speed zones and I have pmobile which are also not downloaded. |

It downloads everything as per your choice 'here'. If you want pMobiles, opt to download them then make sure pMobile is checked in the program list.
It does seperate out RedSpeed and Overspeed if you set the program option to do that.
In the download package are numerous format manuals, loads of info in there. _________________ DashCam:

Perhaps you can point me in the right direction as I must have something wrong
This is the download settings
and this is the processed results
BTW, I know my WAV and BMP do not yet match |

The best way to proceed is to read one of the manuals, there is a .doc, .pdf, .htm and they all contain relevent pictures to help explain.
I had them proof read, and subsequently amended, to ensure they follow the program flow.
All the main points are covered including what I think is your issue.
The very basic flow is:
1) Download the zip - Garmin Speed Zoned set into your working folder from here.
2) Use the program to unzip the cameras, at that point the 3 main display fields will turn green, if they don't then there is a popup telling you why and what to do.
3) Check all the tick boxes and adjust to your liking.
4) Process _________________ DashCam:

Expanding K's point 1 above and your post re downloads. There is no need to download the file manually as you appear to be doing.
In the menu bar of the converter, the leftmost item is "Database Options". Drop this down and the first item in the list is "Download Database". If you chose that option, as if by magic, the database will download to your choice of download folder (as long as you are logged into PGPSW).
EDIT The downloaded .zip file must be in your converter working folder. If you downloaded it to elsewhere, move the complete, unzipped .zip file to your converter working folder.
You also need the .BMP and .WAV files that 'match' the .CSV files (but I know that you know that). These are also included in the CSV-GPX converter download, as is the user manual.
But as pointed out by Kremmen, a really good place to be, would be to cast a passing glance at the help (user manual) file that he has provide in multiple formats for the user.

I don't know if the picture is an edit as I've not seen it before, but it clearly shows your issue in that you have downloaded and unzipped the .WAV files outside of the Converter as their format doesn't match the .gpx file format ...... and why the fields backgrounds are both pink
Gatso_fifty.gpx doesn't = Gatso_50.Wav or to be more specific:
"Gatso_fifty" doesnt match "Gatso_50"
As a single example, in the Converter download package is Gatso_fifty.Wav.
As mentioned, it's all explained in the manual. _________________ DashCam:

Hi all, been out of this forum for quite a while as been using the iOS app and haven't had a 'proper' SatNav for a while. Have just acquired my new Garmin 65 with Alexa I thought I'd pop on and download the database for install and came across this thread and the Direction Converter thread and just been through the manuals, followed along and it all works like a charm!
Haven't actually driven anywhere yet to test it out but I can see them all in the Custom POIs on the device so all seems good - will update on if the new DriveSmarts play ball later....
Just wanted to say a BIG thank you to Kremmen and all the other helpers / testers / guys who have been working on this for the last few years as both programs are just great!
Glad I popped back in to PGPSW to see how things were going now!
Cheers again fellas - outstanding work.

Well, after installing the directional GPI file on the new DriveSmart 65 with Alexa I can report back and say that all is running smoothly and as expected.
So, if anyone is thinking of getting one of the new models they are still compatible and Garmin don't appear to have 'tweaked' anything to break this.
I'm only slightly miffed that after spending a few hours working my way though it all yesterday a newer database version is out!
Got my head around it all now so it's time for round two - without looking at the manual!

Was only kidding MaFt....good practice on how to use the programs anyway!
Been using iOs for so long I'd forgotten the release day for the website version.
I did manage to fudge it up anyway and had error messages coming all over the place, so it did help me to work through it all and understand where it all went mamaries skyward!
All good in the end so see if I can remember next week!
Cheers

The senile old duffer is back again with a quick question after scanning 64 pages of this thread and not finding the answer! It goes like this.....
I have the DS65 connected to the car audio via BT and all works fine through the car speakers EXCEPT the audio warnings for the custom camera POIs which insist on coming through the PND's internal speaker.
Is that normal on other Garmin units or does anyone know of a way of getting the camera alerts to broadcast via BlueTooth along with every other sound the Garmin produces?
Any words of wisdom / advice / casual sarcasm greatly appreciated.
Cheers
