Can someone please tell me how to find the post regarding loading Garmin speed cameras from this site, using the POI loader, onto my Honda cr-v Garmin satnav please. I have unfortunately lost my original link. Many thanks in advance |

Firstly, how old is the car? Secondly, have you got a USB stick with the map updates on it. You will need this as you have to reload all the maps as well as the cameras.
If not get one done.
I didn't realise there was a 'how to' for the Honda Connects system here. But I have one and have loaded the cams. Mixed results as far as alerts are concerned and you would probably be better off putting CamerAlert on a smartphone. |

Thanks for the reply. It's a 2016 EX and yes I have a USB stick and up dated maps on it. I have used the poi loader in the past to transfer the Garmin speed cameras from this website via the USB onto the cr-v satnav. Maybe it was another website that I found the information on? |

There is a whole bunch about it on CivInfo. Likely that's where you got it from? |

I'll see if I can find it tomorrow if you want me to. Are you registered there?
But in short, use POILoader to put the GPI file in {USB Stick}\Garmin\POI folder with the built in POI GPI file. Then update the maps. |

I fully agree with M8 regarding using CA on a phone, that's what I've done. CA plays it's warnings via the car headunit after muting the audio so you don't miss them.
= no need to continually (weekly) update the Honda maps to stay current and the alerts are directional. _________________ DashCam:

Thanks for advice. I can't remember what format to save the cameras in( ie individually or group) hence not request. Point taken regarding using my mobile and have just set that up for a trip later this morning. Cheers! |

There are a couple of good threads on Garmin/PGPSW speed cameras HERE and HERE which will help you generate the required .GPX file, but when you run POILoader that generates the .GPI file, instead of 'pointing' it at "Your Device", point it at "Your Computer" and navigate to your {USB}\Garmin\POI folder.
Detailed instruction on using Kremmen's CSV to GPX converer are contained in files within the download, as are the required .BMP and .WAV files. |

Thanks for the info. I will update my Garmin in my cr-v, but now think I will use the cameras on my mobile as they worked well during this morning's trip, l also have a separate built in satnav in my van so it will be ideal for that as well.
Thanks again |
