Moving on from my previous connection issue which is solved, i tried to reinstall the map on the device due to a previous update error where the device disconnected prior to finishing.
Almost there copying files and up pops installation error, now my free space has reduced from 8GB to 4GB on the internal memory. Basecamp is reporting two maps installed both 2020.1 v23.10 one with file name gmapprom.img the other d6210090a.img. I am guessing the latter is the failed update and reason I have two maps in storage.
Having a browse the d6210090a.img is in my map directory and there is no trace of gmapprom.img.
I do not relish ringing support TBH, in the past I have just sorted things out in explorer. Is there a factory restore option anywhere or acess to this other file? The device boots up okay and no errors, Garmen express is all green and cheery telling me its fine and up to date. |

Which map do you have? If the full EU map it's normal to have a gmapprom.img in the hidden .system folder and another fairly large .img map in the Map folder, one will be EU North, the other EU South.
Look in Settings, Map & Vehicles, myMaps ... that will tell you what is actually there, what do you see? _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
