An error on the 2019.30 mapping, but not your usual error as far as I know.
The map shows the Lincoln Eastern Bypass from the A15 south of Lincoln to the existing A15 on the northern bypass. The road is under construction but not due to open until the middle of 2020.
I tried to force a route using that new road but it used only existing roads. Very confusing but interesting to see how soon after completion that it is enabled. |

Garmin tend to add the roads quite early but block the junctions so that the road under construction is not used for routing. They currently have something similar with the new parts of the A14 from Cambridge to Huntingdon. _________________ Paul |

Re the Lincoln Bypass - are there any expectations of completing the link between Hykeham and Wadington, and builing a flyover at the Carholme Road junction. |

Garmin did the same with the A555 Manc Airport bypass. It was on the map before it was opened to traffic. |

The two examples I am aware of major map errors were the late arrival of the Rheims bypass (A4) on the maps, drivers were plotting the actual route taken via Basecamp and publishing it to help fellow travellors.
The Malaga SW bypass - quite a long road was missing from Garmin maps for several years, it was visible on Google maps from quite early on.
On other occasions Garin have been pretty quick eg the earth slip on the AZ89 just south of Page which closed the road for quite a while, Garmin had updated the map by the time the next version was issued. |
