Now up to 6.7.2 and some interesting notes from Garmin
“We’ve released a hotfix for Garmin Express, v6.7.2. Due to this version needing to be available for all affected users, Express is available to 100% of users that download from http://www.garmin.com/express and Garmin Connect.
Included with this version:
Fixed an issue with the installer. Any new users who had never installed Express before would encounter an error during the installation.”
Previous Versions:
6.7.1
Fixed a crash that would occur after updating Express to v6.7.0. The crash happens when the user tries to launch Express.
Important Notes:
If you are running v6.5.1 currently, you will not be impacted by this update. This prevents the crash from happening.
If you have updated to v6.6.0 or v6.7.0, but are able to launch Express successfully, you are not impacted by this issue. We still highly recommend updating, however.
If you have updated to v6.7.0, and are experiencing the crash, you must download Express from our website: http://www.garmin.com/express _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

Think it's more likely something unique in certain circumstances. Seen no reports of anyone experiencing a crash. Given the myriad of OS builds out there its surprising there aren't more issues. If only everyone used one OS on one hardware platform life would be so much simpler _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way.
Release notes as follows:
For our Fitness and Outdoor devices that support ephemeris, we fixed an issue with Express providing an expired EPO.bin file.
Our Android OS devices will update successfully now.
Express would indicate a successful sync, but the activity would not get uploaded. If an activity fails to upload, Express will indicate a failure instead.
We’ve improved the download progress for our marine charts. The progress will no longer sit at 1 minute for an extended period of time.
Fixed a crash that occurs for users who are specifically running Windows 10 version 1703.
Other minor bug fixes and improvements. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

Well 6.9.0 only lasted a day before being replaced by 6.9.1.
Release notes only published for 6.9.0 though.
This version includes the following changes:
Fixed an issue that could prevent Express from detecting a vívoactive 3 Music device.
Other minor bug fixes and improvements. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

Glad I forgot then
6.9.1 fixes 6.9.0
Given the size of the maps and the wide use of small capacity SSD I would have thought Garmin would by now allow GE to have a configuration to redirect downloads to another Drive/Partition.
I seem to recall they do for Basecamp files but not for device maps and firmware.
This forced data retention to C:/ProgramData/Garmin/ where, if you don't manually intervene, can fill up a SSD with saved multiGb maps is stupid. _________________ DashCam:

I am looking into a way of redirecting C:\ProgramData/Garmin/ to D:\{somewhere} but have been tied up in other things recently, and it's quite a long way down my priorities list ATM
Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v6.11.0 for the PC today. If you would like to update to the latest version, please visit the About page within the Settings of the Express application and select “Check for Updates to Express.” This version includes the following changes:
Minor bug fixes and improvements.
For completeness the changelog for the previous release is below.
6.10.0
Improve syncing with our Garmin Mode USB devices, such as the Forerunner 305.
Corrected a string that was translated incorrectly in Czech.
We’ve made a change to help prevent users from accidentally activating Downloadable Content to the wrong device. It is now required that the device is connected to the computer.
Other minor bug fixes and improvements. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

Interesting in that launching Express gets an immediate pop up warning that a new version is out, those pop ups are normally reserved for critical fixes yet as you say the changelog simply states 'Minor bug fixes and improvements' _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way.
