|
|
I have subscribed to PocketGPSWorlds speed camera database for several years now and use it with the Android CamerAlert App on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge phone.
I have recently started to use the Android Auto app on my phone when driving as it offers a crisp and glance friendly user interface when driving, complete with voice activated controls.
It launches automatically on connecting to bluetooth in my car and also allows me to launch useful apps easily, for example Google Maps, Audible, Podcast addict, iPlayer Radio etc.
Is it possible to interface CamerAlert with Android Auto so that the former is included in the Android Auto list of compatible apps?
Otherwise, it isn't possible to see CamerAlert whilst Android Auto is running. |

I'm in a similar position. Having been a fan of Garmin satnavs for years today I used Android Auto in my wife's new car. While impressive it doesn't have the flexibility of my Garmin but its simple layout suits my wife, who aims to use it for her work visiting pre-school age children. So I've downloaded the CameraAlert app and updated the database for it.
However her car launches Android Auto when she plugs in her phone, can CameraAlert be configured to automatically run also? And will the cameras display on the map? _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Sadly CA seems to be an 'as-is' program with no updates in sight.
At the moment it does what I need, connected via BT to my car headunit and issues timely warnings. _________________ DashCam:

I have finally worked out how to use camera alert on android auto .
I have set it with no map display and it starts when my S8 goes into car mode .
It means I get verbal warnings of cameras through my radio but no display on my navigation map on android auto radio.
It also means I cannot record any new cameras as I have it set so phone does not display when Android auto is on my car display{cant be nicked for using phone ) _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database
I keep on learning but they invent new things faster ,How do I keep up ? |
