I guess it's just not allowed on this one.
I think it should not be allowed on ANY.
I try to read and correct my stuff (not always successfully!) before pressing GO. _________________ Dennis

+1
No matter how many times I proof read my post the chances are very high that I will see a typo or I just want to say something differently - just after I've hit "submit"!
Especially when I'm using my iPhone to post! ![Shocked](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif) _________________ Robert.

A beginners qestion here - what do I need to have to view the output of these cams on iOS devices (I don’t own a Mac or PC)? |

I can only preach Nextbase ..... if the model number has a 'W' in it then it's WiFi enabled so you can down footage to a mobile. _________________ DashCam:

BlackVue cams also have WiFi so you can download/view files on a mobile device. |

I've had 3 Nextbase units.
The main problem with the normal units I've found is the ball & stalk mount. It causes vibration over all but the smoothest roads. My 412 was quite noticeable when I looked at the parked windscreen wipers.
The Nextbase forum suggestion is a blob of BluTak in the ball socket before fixing the GPS mount.
My Nextbase 380 is a very solid mount, zero vibration and far more discrete, and far easier to mount and dismount quickly, one handed, without having to realign it every time.
Sample 380 footage from mine: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d2tc9tdn2ahf2x2/180309_095813_006.MOV?dl=0 _________________ DashCam:

With my 312GW and now my new 512GW I don't seem to get shake. It's windscreen mounted behind (well, in front of) the rearview mirror. I don't have any difficulty re-mounting it, as I easily re-align it using the front edge of the bonnet in the bottom of the dashcam screen.
(But I do agree with your previous comment about buttons compared to touchscreen - bit of a PITA, although I run it all day without touching anything, so it's not a huge thing).
I have discovered that mine is saving as protected a lot of clips. I guess I must have the sensitivity too touchy, so I'll see if I can reduce it. _________________ Dennis

Thanks to everybody for their input.
A key point is that I have over 25 SD cards so I need a dashcam that can used SD cards instead of the micro SD cards.
The reason that I have a larger number of cards is that I keep all of my forward facing recordings for at least six months although in reality I now have several years all stored on portable hard drives, of which I have a small collection.
When I'm on holiday, I tend to swap cards at the begging of each day and when I get home I copy all of the cards to a hard drive.
I suppose that I could look at transferring the data from the cards to a hard drive each day, but that would mean that I'd have to take a laptop or other electronic device and I take enough stuff away on holiday.
So, the easiest way forward (for the moment) is to stay with RoadHawk and get the two HD-2 units repaired.
The problem with the HD-2s failing is apparently due to the units finding an issue on the SD card which is reduced by doing regular full formats of each SD card. I've always done a quick format of each card every time that I use it but that's not enough.

Would that be too big or heavy for a Range Rover? ![Laughing](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) _________________ Dennis

I've never owned a Range Rover, although we're hoping to get one soon - to add to our Land Rover fleet!
Also, as our last holiday to Jersey was only for a week we decided to fly so I didn't want to take too much.
