Hello, another beginners question please.
What I am doing wrong?
I have co pilot5 installed on a sd card and it runs OK without tt installed.
I have tomtom3 installed on a cf card and it runs OK even when co pilot is installed. though not running
I have removed tom tom~gps in order to run each program individually.
Unfortunately I am not having much luck.
Both programs are installed on a 2210. and I am using co pilot gps receiver
I have the gps in tt set to NMEA 0183v2 4800 on com 8.
Tom tom runs but when I close down tt and open co pilot the gps cannot be found either manually or automatically. the bluetooth browser has also got itself into a loop which I am unable to cure.
Can you tell me if it is possible to make this work.
I noticed from an earlier post that Dave said he was running them on the same machine.
I do not want to run them together as I know this is not possible.
Any help please

When you open your TomTom GPS applet (Start > Settings >System > GPS) what version number is reported?
On a side note - the best speed for BT receivers is 38400 - but that's not mandatory _________________ Lutz

Do a soft reset, and then remove the existing TomTom GPS driver, do another soft reset, and then install the TomTom GPS driver 2.07 from our downloads page. See if that helps. _________________ Lutz

if i launch copilot on my 2210 then i have to connect to the gps in the bt manager first by turning on the gps then going into the bt manager from the today screen then selecting the gps device by holding the stylus on the the icon you should thenm get a pop up window with the connect option at the top select this wait until you seen the icon go green with a with some arrows at either side the gps is now connected to the 2210 then open the non tt application _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. looks that way both progs have good and bad points, both cost me a goodly sum. and I don't like to give up too easy. I will keep baatling for now got to be a solution if others can do it. I have just seen in another forum a registry hack but I am reluctant to go into the registry at this moment in time |

Thanks Alix, I think I may have sorted it, I took the tick out of tt gps settings soft reset and co pilot has now decided to start. If I leave the tick in co pilot will not have it and just keeps looping the bt manager. looks like the tt program wants to be the master. Anyway i've got a headache now so I will try it tomorrow to confirm. I will leave the 2.07 driver in and see how it fairs
Thanks again.
Superb Website well done to all who contribute
Regards

Been for an 80 mile test of both cp5 and tt3 today, everything worked fine. I am a bit disappointed in the lack of detail in the cp5 map (rivers and railways) although I found it to be up to date as far as maps can be with this daily changing world. I was also a bit peeved that the program always wanted to take you via major roads when quickest was selected in the options, even though I could see my destination 200 yds away cp5 wanted to take me up another road to bring me in via a major road. I couldn't find another way of altering that. tt3 appeared to run better and the map display was more informative, although a little bit behind times in addresses. All in all I can live with both programs and now have the facility to make a choice.
Thanks to everyone for their help.
