Over a year ago Mike reviewed the Garmin GPSMap76. A little after which I purchased a GPSMap76S, but as with all things when you have a receiver for a long time at your beck and call, a review seems to just not appear and we have been extremely busy with some of the newer GPS products hitting the market, but I have finally found the time to write a GPSMap76S Review.
I would like to say that there are only a few differences between the GPSMap76 and GPSMap76S, but we will go back over the main features of the Garmin GPSMap76S.
The full review is available here. |

Very good product.
Sample screen with Belgian Topomap (& compare with basemap).
I use with MapSource CitySelect and Belgian Topomap (and with my iPaq 3760 ). _________________ Samsung Galay Ace, Pocket Loox 720/RBT1000.

Belgian Topo does look much better. The 76S really is a nice beast and I'd like to get my hands on the new Colour version as I think that'll be much better, but the price for the colour models (IMO) is still way too high. |

Just bought myself a new, European model GPS 76c from eBay for £300. (seemed like a good price since the shops I checked have it around £400+) It should arrive in a few days and I'll happily share my thoughts on it. |

Mr. Burrows,
In your review of the Gamin Map76 what in the world is BECK AND CALL in your first paragraph?
Did you mean to say "beckon call?"
Just curious, as others are I'm sure.

Hi Don,
No, Dave is quite correct... to be at someone's 'beck and call' means to be there whenever they 'beckon' or 'call' you, so basically to be there whenever you are needed!
Hope this makes things a bit clearer.
Regards,
Bo Peep. _________________ TomTom 730
