ok i have nearly decided on tomtom go but im wondering a few things
what type of mount do you get one that sticks to the window or to the dash?
has any one got pictures of the mount installed with and without go?
also is it powered mount or do you still have to wire in the wires each time?
if any one has it wired in and has some picture that would be good thanks |

It's a sturdy suction mount consisting of three parts, with knobs to fasten them. You may have seen the news on the front page that Brodit has a replacement for the two parts that normally connect to the windshield, but re-uses the third part that holds the GO.
Currently only the passive mount is available It does have a power connector in the back, so your GO can be recharged when you snap it in.
But to connect an external antenna, or to link the GO into the car stereo you need an active mount - that one is still under development. _________________ Lutz

I took some photo's of the exteernal antenna cable and mounting here,
http://www.freephoto-i.net/thumbnails.php?album=43
I'll post some more a.s.a.p.
The mount is powered, as is the external antenna, which the photo shows, it is incorperated into the mount, so there is only one cable to power and charge the unit. |

You can only but try it. If it only shows half the satellites lock-ons, then an external antenna would improve it 100%. One thing to remember though, if your windscreen is heated, or UV protected, then you will need the external antenna. |

I use my Go on the mount on the dashboard, with the suction onto where the dials are so its well hidden but can be seen by me through the steering wheel and my satellites are full strength and it only see's a little of the windscreen (where it sticks out)
I hope this helps your problem... :D |
